Aerospace Valley

The Aerospace Valley Association was created in 2005 to promote international development of the Aeronautics, Space and Embedded Systems Competitiveness Cluster. The association is made up of companies, research centers, training centers and institutes of higher education, involved in these sectors in both the Midi-Pyrenees and Aquitaine regions.

In 2008, the association had 538 members, including 255 SMEs. The General Assembly is made up of seven collegial boards, with the first four making up the cluster's project certification committee.

The cluster includes 120,000 industrial jobs over 1,600 business establishments, representing 1/3 of aeronautics jobs in France, among which 8,500 research scientists and 2 of the top 3 aerospace engineering schools.

The main objectives are to:

  • Consolidate the global lead in civil aeronautics
  • Consolidate Europe's lead in the space sector
  • Reinforce a position of excellence in embedded systems
  • Consolidate the cluster as an international reference in training and research
  • Stimulate and coordinate the network of French aeronautics and space clusters
  • Capitalize on the innovative potential of SMEs and startups in aeronautics, space and embedded systems
  • Constitute a defense against potential threats by adapting to the strengths of globalization, while maintaining a strong technological base in France
  • Promote a sustainable development policy

The Aerospace Valley is the prime beneficiary of the project.
