CETE South West (South West Infrastructure Technical Research Centre) is a decentralized service of MEDDTL (Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transportation and Housing), which contributes to the implementation of policies in spatial planning by adressing areas of: sustainable transport and mobility, sustainable planning, building, infrastructure design and management, road safety and operation, risk prevention and management, biodiversity and natural resource conservation and management, energy and climate.
CETE is a membership of the Scientific and Technical Network owned by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transportation and Housing in conjunction with the central technical services (SETRA, CERTU, IFSTTAR (ex LCPC)) and the resources of other teams CETE .

The action area of the South West CETE is: Poitou-Charentes, Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées and Limousin.
In addition, the South West CETE has developed PCI (Poles of competence and innovation) acting at national scale, including the Satellite Applications and Telecommunications PCI , which aims to promote the use of satellite technologies in earth observation, navigation and telecommunications. It is for this reason that the South West CETE is involved in the APSAT project.
