The Aerospace Research & Technology Centre (CTAE – Centre de Tecnologia Aeroespacial) is a non-profit private foundation set up in 2005 by Academia, Government and Industry in the region of Catalonia (Spain) aiming to enhance industrial competitiveness and promote innovation by providing Research and Technological Developments services.
CTAE R&D activities are aligned with the strategic lines approved by its Board and Associates Members, open to new entities interested in the activity of the centre and currently formed by the following industrial, government and academic partners.
CTAE offers Research, Development and Innovation (R&D+i) services to companies, helping transform concept into product by working in a multidisciplinary environment.
CTAE provides access to in-house and university resources through a strategic alliance with the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC): experienced researchers and laboratories; promoting university-industry collaboration, trans-regional and international cooperation, as well as technology transfer to and from other non-aerospace sectors.
CTAE provides infrastructure and services to university and industry partners developing innovative activities in the areas below. These services, in addition to technical include fundraising, project management, quality assurance, intellectual property services, validation and testing support, technical assistance projects, as well as an incubator to host project teams, start-ups and spin-offs.

CTAE's group of experts offer a wide range of different backgrounds with their PhDs and graduates in aerospace engineering, computer science, information technologies, physics, robotics, electronics and industrial engineering; experience through its accumulated participation in large international projects under FP7, ESA, Eurocontrol and EC contracts; and expertise in safety critical systems, system design, embedded systems, mobile networks and communications, indoor/outdoor positioning, GNSS, perception and interaction, data and information processing, data acquisition, ergonomics, aerodynamics, among others.
CTAE will coordinate the application pilots to be developed in the region of Catalonia for the APSAT project.
